Long and short of it.

Get Volvo 740, get underwhelmed with power. Get cheap engine from a mad Russian (he’s a LeMons guy) and a 5spd manual to go with it from CL. Break volvo motor on LeMons Rally.

I got 2 articles about what happened in those I can find links for those if you’d like. But After the motor broke, I had the Nissan motor for another project that died. (The 924 sadly) then got a 300z trans, and started working on doing the swap
